Information You Send Directly
Search entries
Text entered into a search widget is sent to the third-party company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and returns its own results. Stafford County Warrant Records does not store or log the search terms on its own systems.
Messages
If you email us, we retain the message so we can answer it. We keep that exchange within our organization unless a legal duty requires disclosure. Do not send a case number or sensitive personal details unless they are needed for your message.
Technical Details Collected on Visits
When a page loads, the server may receive information about the connection and how it is used:
- Device IP address
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
- Referring site, when one is supplied
- Date and time of each page request
Cookies and measurement
Cookies are small files stored in a browser. We use them and analytics services to understand aggregate traffic, including which pages receive visits and where people leave. Browser settings can block cookies. Some parts of the site may work differently when cookies are disabled.
Uses for Collected Information
- Operate the website and keep pages available
- Send a visitor’s search query to the selected partner
- Measure which information is useful and which needs revision
- Find and correct technical faults
- Display advertising that may reflect browsing interests
No Stafford Warrant Data Is Stored Here
This site does not host, build, sell or keep a database of Stafford County warrants or individual warrant histories. It provides general directions to the Sheriff’s Warrant Section, courts, magistrates and other official records channels. The visitor information described in this policy is not assembled into a consumer report or a file about another person.
Outside Search Companies
The search boxes are run by outside providers. Information entered in a box is handled under the provider’s own privacy rules, retention choices and sharing practices. Those practices are outside our control. Read the provider’s policy before submitting a query or opening a paid service.
Links Leave This Website
Stafford pages link to the Sheriff, Circuit Court, General District Court, JDR Court, public-record portals and other resources. Once a visitor opens an outside address, that organization’s privacy policy applies. Check its rules before supplying personal information.
Some advertising companies may use their own systems to follow browsing across websites. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Can Receive Information
We do not sell personal data. Information may be handled by:
- Search providers receiving queries entered into their tools
- Analytics companies measuring visits and site performance
- Advertising networks serving page ads
- Government or law-enforcement bodies when a valid legal order requires it
Steps Taken to Protect Data
We use ordinary security practices to protect information we receive. No internet-connected service can promise perfect security, however. We work to reduce risk but cannot guarantee that an incident will never occur.
Visitors Younger Than 18
The site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal details from anyone under eighteen. If a minor’s information is believed to have reached us, it can be removed after we learn about it.
Requests About Your Information
Virginia’s Freedom of Information Act, Code § 2.2-3700 et seq., concerns public records held by public bodies such as Stafford County offices. It does not create a general privacy request right against this privately operated site. You may ask us for information we hold about your communication, request a correction, seek deletion where applicable, or opt out of certain processing.
For an official county record, contact the public body that holds it and follow its request process. The law and the County’s policy govern those government records, not the search provider’s separate database.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This policy may be revised. A new version will be posted here with a changed effective date, and the latest version will govern later visits.
Effective date: September 24, 2026
